Rosacea is a common chronic skin condition that affects many individuals. Individuals with rosacea can experience flushing, burning, irritation, inflammation, permanent redness, spots and the development of small blood vessels on the skin. It is unknown what causes rosacea however, there are certain things that can trigger symptoms or make them worse. Common triggers for rosacea can include:

  • alcohol
  • caffeine
  • spicy foods
  • hot drinks
  • stress
  • sunlight
  • hot or cold temperatures

Read on to find out all about the treatment we offer at Revitalise Skincare Clinic that is clinically proven to improve the signs of rosacea.

What are the symptoms of Rosacea?

Rosacea can display itself differently depending on the individual, however most individuals will experience at least one of these symptoms.

  • Flushing: Many individuals who have rosacea experience frequent blushing known as flushing. Facial redness is the earliest sign of rosacea.
  • Persistent redness: Persistent facial redness might resemble a blush or sunburn that doesn’t go away.
  • Bumps and spots: Small, red, solid bumps or pus-filled spots can develop on the skin. These bumps or spots might resemble acne.
  • Visible blood vessels: Small blood vessels that look like thin, red lines can become visible under your skin.

Symptoms are most commonly found on the cheeks, chin, nose and forehead but can also display themselves on the eyelids, ears, chest and neck.

Rosacea Treatment at Revitalise Skincare Clinic

Different treatments can help control the symptoms of Rosacea but many aren’t actually effective. At Revitalise Skincare Clinic we offer Dermalux LED treatment, a treatment clinically proven to improve a range of skin conditions including Rosacea.

Dermalux® LED treatment is a relaxing, pain free experience. Each treatment lasts for around 20 minutes and with no downtime, you can simply get up and glow. As the light triggers a whole cascade of skin enhancing processes, the visible benefits continue even after the treatment has finished.

Dermalux® can also be used in combination with your regular skin treatments to upgrade and accelerate results. Our Medical Practitioner will advise you on the best combination depending on your skin concerns during your personalised skin consultation. With weekly treatments it can take as little as a month to get the skin under control, after which we can maintain the skin’s condition with medical grade skincare, and less frequent LED treatments.

Dermalux® is heat free, chemical free and does not harm the skin. It has an excellent safety profile and is beneficial for all skin types without downtime. Unlike some rosacea and acne treatments, Dermalux doesn’t strip the skin. Treatment actually helps to strengthen and soothe the skin barrier.

What are the benefits of the different LED lights?

Dermalux® delivers skin specific treatments using combinations of clinically proven blue, red and near infrared wavelengths. Some of the skin concerns we can treat include:

  • acne
  • rosacea
  • pigmentation
  • sun damage
  • wound healing
  • eczema
  • psoriasis

Utilising the latest LED technology, Dermalux® ensures a safe and targeted delivery of light at the optimum intensity for maximum skin enhancing results.

LED Red – this light boosts collagen and elastin production, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, increases hydration,
evens skin tone and texture, revitalises and restores radiance
LED Blue – is a powerful antibacterial light, it helps treat acne and blemishes without irritation, prevents breakouts, normalises oil production and is a UV free alternative for eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis.
Near infra-red – this light relieves redness and inflammation, helps reduce age spots and pigmentation, restores skin health and rejuvenates the skin.

For enhanced and accelerated results, Dermalux® Tri-Wave therapy uniquely delivers simultaneous wavelength treatments which are tailored to your skin condition.

The power of light

Light has many positive effects on our bodies; it helps us to produce essential vitamin D, triggers growth, promotes wellbeing and makes our skin glow.

Phototherapy occurs naturally all around. It is based on the principle that our cells absorb light and use it to fuel natural rejuvenation and repair processes. Different wavelengths stimulate different effects in the skin. We know that on-going exposure to UV light is very damaging. However controlled levels of red, blue and near infrared light are clinically proven to be beneficial.

A celebrity skin care favourite, LED Phototherapy is the application of these beneficial wavelengths into the skin’s deepest layers. It energises our cells with proven rejuvenating results. This is a natural response similar to that of plant photo-synthesis through a process known as photobiomodulation. Skin cells that are energised function better and can regenerate up to 200% faster which in turn leads to a more youthful, healthy and radiant complexion.
