If you’re looking for a long lasting way to restore volume, improve skin quality and stimulate collagen production – Radiesse may be the treatment for you. Radiesse is an advanced injectable treatment that we use at Revitalise Skincare Clinic to rejuvenate the face, neck, décolletage and hands. It has a formulation and technology that can offer you an individualised treatment approach – tailored to your unique needs. In this complete Radiesse treatment guide, we will explain how the treatment works, the benefits, what results you can expect, answer your frequently asked questions and more.

What is Radiesse?

Radiesse is an injectable dermal filler designed to restore lost volume and stimulate collagen production in the skin. It is composed of a defined range of tiny microspheres of calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHa) suspended in a gel. Once injected beneath the skin, Radiesse provides volume, structure and immediate lifting and contouring effects targeting signs of skin ageing. The CaHa microspheres activate the body’s natural processes to produce new collagen and elastin. Over time, your body breaks down these tiny microspheres and the gel, leaving behind your own newly formed natural collagen giving your skin a smoother and firmer appearance. This dual action makes Radiesse popular for individuals seeking long lasting natural rejuvenation.

The Radiesse triple effect –

  • Vertical lifting and immediate enhancement

High elasticity and viscosity provide Radiesse with the power to immediately lift and project the desired treatment area.

  • Defined contours – sculpting the face

With Radiesse, small volumes have a big impact, so facial structures can be significantly defined and retain their shape.

  • Long term rejuvenation – collagen and elastin stimulation

Treatment stimulates collagen and elastin, rejuvenating and restoring the skin for up to 12-18 months post treatment.

Areas we treat with Radiesse

We use Radiesse to treat several areas of the face and body where volume loss and skin ageing occurs. These areas include:

Face – Radiesse helps restore youthful contours and smooth deeper lines in areas such as the cheeks, jawline, chin, marionette lines and nasolabial folds.

Neck and décolletage – The neck can be one of the first places to show signs of ageing on the body. We use treatment here to smooth fine lines and tighten sagging skin.

Hands – Treatment is also widely used on the hands to reduce the appearance of signs of ageing and to provide a rejuvenated appearance.

At Revitalise Skincare Clinic, we have seen great results using Radiesse in all of these areas. Our Medical Nurse Practitioner has years of experience and is focused on creating natural but noticeable results that allow you to look like yourself just revitalised.

Benefits of Radiesse treatment

Radiesse has become a popular choice in aesthetic medicine because it offer several advantages compared to traditional fillers. These benefits include:

  • Long lasting results – Results from treatment can last from 12-18 months depending on the area treated and lifestyle factors.
  • Boosts collagen and elastin – Radiesse doesn’t just fill wrinkles temporarily. It stimulates the body’s natural collagen production, which improves skin structure over time.
  • Immediate results – Most patients notice visible improvement immediately after treatment.
  • Shapes and redefines facial contours.
  • Minimal downtime – It is a non-surgical treatment that has little to no downtime.
  • Smooths lines and wrinkles.
  • Versatile treatment – We can treat multiple skin concerns in a range of areas, including volume loss, deep wrinkles and skin rejuvenation.
  • Supports against sagging for a lifted appearance.

The Radiesse treatment procedure

Understanding the procedure can help you feel more confident before undergoing treatment. Prior to all injectable treatments at Revitalise Skincare Clinic, we book our patients in for a personalised consultation. This allows our Medical Practitioner to assess your skin and facial structure, discuss your goals and expectations and determine which treatment is right for you. She will then create a personalised treatment plan based on the results you’d like to achieve.

Before your treatment, the treatment area is cleaned and a topical numbing cream is applied to maximise comfort. Radiesse is generally considered a comfortable treatment, it is formulated with lidocaine which minimises discomfort.

During your treatment, our Medical Practitioner uses a fine needle or cannula to carefully inject the solution beneath the skin into the targeted areas. The procedure typically takes 30-45 minutes depending on how many areas are being treated.

After the injections, our Medical Practitioner may gently massage the area to ensure even distribution of the product. Most patients resume to their normal daily activities soon afterwards. We will provide you with post-treatment aftercare advice to ensure you are getting the best results from your treatment.

Frequently asked questions

How soon will I see effects from my Radiesse treatment?

Depending on the treatment performed, the effect can be visible immediately after injection due to the lifting and contouring effects. Additionally, by stimulating your body’s own collagen and elastin production, the benefits of skin quality enhancement with Radiesse will continue to develop over time.

How much downtime is needed after treatment?

There is normally minimal downtime after treatment with Radiesse. Swelling and numbness are common and usually subside within 7 to 10 days post treatment. You should avoid sun exposure, tanning lights, saunas and intense facial treatments for one week post treatment.

How long do the effects of Radiesse last?

The duration of the results depends on age, skin type, lifestyle, metabolism and the area treated. Radiesse results are normally particularly durable, lasting up to 12 to 18 months. Maintenance treatments can help prolong these results.

What do I need to consider when choosing a Radiesse practitioner?

It is important to look for a clinic or healthcare professional who is well trained in the handling of injections with a medical background. All injectable treatments at Revitalise Skincare Clinic are performed by our highly qualified Medical Nurse Practitioner at our CQC Registered clinic – you can be assured that your safety is always at the forefront of everything we do.
