At Revitalise Skincare Clinic, patients ask us all the time which treatments work best for neck ageing. The neck is one of the first areas of the body where ageing becomes visible. Fine lines, crepey skin, loss of elasticity and prominent platsymal bands can develop over time – often earlier than expected. The neck is often forgotten and overlooked in skincare routines as we focus primarily on the face, which can lead to a visible contrast between the face and neck. At Revitalise Skincare Clinic in Bath and Trowbridge we offer advanced non-surgical neck rejuvenation treatments designed to improve skin quality, tighten the skin and stimulate collagen production. If you would like to find out the best cosmetic treatments for the neck in Bath and Trowbridge – read our guide to find out more.

Why does the neck age faster than the face?

The skin on the neck is thinner and contains fewer oil glands than the face – as a result it is more prone to collagen loss, dehydration and skin laxity. The neck also has a weaker dermal barrier and less fat padding underneath the skin than the face, causing it to lose elasticity and sag more easily. This area can suffer from high sun exposure, constant movement, and neglect in daily skincare routines. All these factors combined lead to earlier sagging and horizontal lines. Fortunately, modern aesthetic treatments mean there are numerous treatment options to improve its appearance without the need for invasive surgery.

Botox for Platsyma Bands – Nefertiti Neck Lift

Botulinum Toxin is a neurotoxic protein that has found widespread use in medical and cosmetic applications. It is a popular treatment for various conditions – primarily known for its ability to reduce wrinkles and fine lines on the face but is also one of the most effective treatments for visible neck bands. Our Medical Practitioner injects small amounts of Botox into the playstma muscle. This reduces muscle activity, allowing the neck to appear smoother. We can also combine Botox with other treatments such as skin boosters, Dermal Fillers or PDO Threads to enhance results. The effects of this treatment typically last 3-6 months – after this time a top up treatment is needed.

Profhilo

Profhilo is one of the most popular injectable treatments for improving skin texture and increasing hydration. We inject high concentrations of hyaluronic acid into specific points in the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production. Its benefits include firmer and more hydrated skin, improvement in crepey skin texture and an overall enhancement in skin quality. Profhilo is particularly effective for the neck because it focuses on skin health rather than enhancing volume – making it ideal for patients seeking natural looking rejuvenation. We typically recommend a course of 3 treatments for optimal results.

SuneKOS

SuneKOS is a breakthrough in skin rejuvenation, working deep within the skin to restore vitality and youthful radiance. Unlike traditional treatments, it enhances the extracellular matrix (ECM) – the foundation of healthy skin – by combining a patented blend of hyaluronic acid and essential amino acids. This synergy provides both immediate hydration and long-term structural repair, delivering natural, long-lasting skin rejuvenation. It works by stimulating fibroblast activity leading to increased production of collagen and elastin. Benefits of SuneKOS treatment include: restoration of skin elasticity, reduction in fine lines and wrinkles and strengthened thin and crepey skin. SuneKOS is a great option for patients who want a subtle, gradual improvement to the neck area.

Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides are one of the most advanced regenerative treatments available in aesthetics. They contain purified fragments of fish DNA. When we inject Polynucleotides into the skin, they reach the cells called fibroblasts. Fibroblasts are responsible for the formation of connective tissue through their ability to produce collagen, which helps maintain the skin’s firm structure. We typically recommend a course of 3-4 treatments. They have incredible skin benefits for the neck such as:

  • Skin Tightening & Firming: Improves elasticity, targeting sagging, “turkey neck”, and loose skin.
  • Crepey Skin Correction: Reduces horizontal neck lines and fine crepiness through deep hydration and tissue regeneration.
  • Improved Texture & Tone: Enhances skin quality by stimulating natural, long-term repair mechanisms rather than just filling, resulting in a more natural look.

Radiesse

Radiesse is one of the most popular treatments that we offer for the neck. It is a rejuvenating injectable treatment that provides both immediate and long term results. Radiesse contains a defined range of tiny microspheres of calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) suspended in a gel. The CaHA microspheres activate the body’s natural processes to produce new collagen and elastin. Over time, your body breaks down these tiny microspheres and the gel, and as a result, leaves behind your own newly formed natural collagen. It works by improving skin quality and thickening the skin which leads to a reduction in wrinkles and folds. We recommend 2 treatments 3 months apart and then maintenance treatments every 6 months.

PDO Threads – Non-Surgical Neck Lift

At Revitalise Skincare Clinic, we use PDO Threads to lift and tighten sagging skin tissues. Most people know this treatment as a ‘Non Surgical Face Lift’. This treatment uses soluble PDO (polydioxanone) threads – a material doctors have used in medicine for many years, particularly in surgery. However, research has shown that PDO relaxes muscles and tendons, and also stimulates the production of new collagen in the skin. PDO also stimulates the synthesis of elastin and hyaluronic acid in the skin, both of which are vital for keeping the skin looking plump and youthful.

PDO threads are inserted into the skin through a very fine needle or cannula. Depending on the area to be treated, the thread is introduced into either the skin itself, the subcutaneous fat, or the muscle. A lifted appearance can be seen immediately following the treatment, however, the results will improve in the following days and weeks as the PDO stimulates neocollagenesis, which in turn produces collagen. You will see an overall improvement in the texture of the skin as it becomes thicker, tighter, firmer and fine lines and wrinkles are smoothed away.
