At Revitalise Skincare Clinic, we understand that, despite their many benefits, Dermal Fillers may not always provide the desired outcome. You may seek filler dissolving after experiencing over-filling, migration of the filler, uneven results, or dissatisfaction with the aesthetic look. Dermal Filler dissolving treatment offers a safe and effective solution to reverse or adjust the results. Treatment can help restore a more natural appearance.

Dermal Filler Dissolving at Revitalise Skincare Clinic

Using a specially formulated enzyme, hyaluronidase, our experienced practitioner carefully breaks down the filler to achieve the desired outcome. This non-surgical procedure is quick, minimally invasive, and tailored to meet your needs. Hyaluronidase is a medicine that should only be administered by a medical professional skilled in its use, in a clinical environment, and only after a consultation. Arvin, at Revitalise Skincare Clinic is highly experienced at dealing with aesthetic complications when they have an undesirable outcome.

During the treatment, our Nurse Prescriber, injects the hyaluronidase into the area where you would like the Dermal Filler to be dissolved. Prior to treatment we will apply a numbing cream to the area to minimise any discomfort during your procedure.

After treatment the area that has been injected with Hyaluronidase will eventually return to how it was before any Dermal Filler was injected. We schedule a follow-up appointment a couple of weeks after to assess the results and ensure your satisfaction. We may recommend additional treatment if any filler remains. Once the area has settled, which is typically after a few days, you may then have the area refilled if you would like to.

What are the most common reasons for dissolving filler?

There are many reasons why individuals choose to dissolve Dermal Filler. The most common reasons include:

Migration – Migration occurs when the Dermal Filler starts to spread from its original position. Filler migration can happen for numerous reasons, including overfilling the area or poor injection technique. When you visit Arvin at Revitalise Skincare Clinic, you can ensure natural but noticeable results. She uses precise techniques to ensure your face is never overfilled.

Dissatisfaction – After having Dermal Filler, you may decide you are unhappy with the way it looks – maybe after having filler for the first time or after going to a new Practitioner. Dissolving the Dermal Filler will allow you to reverse the areas you are dissatisfied with.

Uneven results- If you find your Dermal Filler is appearing lumpy or uneven, you may wish to have it dissolved. It is extremely important to make sure the Practitioner you go to is a qualified Medical Professional. Arvin at Revitalise Skincare Clinic has had extensive training that ensures the techniques she uses are at the highest possible standard.

What is Hyaluronidase and how does it work?

Hyaluronidase is a specially formulated enzyme, it breaks down Hyaluronic Acid which is found in Dermal Filler. The enzyme works by accelerating the natural degradation process of the filler, allowing it to be safely absorbed by your body.

Hyaluronidase is a prescription only product, meaning it can only be administered by a Medical Prescriber. In order to have this procedure carried out, you must first be seen by a prescribing practitioner to ensure that you are suitable for treatment. We have seen many new patients come to us unable to go back their original practitioner to have their filler dissolved due to their injector not being a registered prescriber.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have Dermal Filler again after dissolving?

Yes, but we would recommend waiting at least 14 days after you have had your filler dissolved. This allows time for the Hyaluronidase to work before injecting any new filler. Prior to having any new filler injected we would book you in for a personalised consultation to ensure suitability.

How soon after having Dermal Filler can it be dissolved?

We would advise to wait at least 14 days, this allows for any swelling to go down and lets the Dermal Filler settle.

Are there any side effects to Hyaluronidase?

Side effects can include:

  • Discomfort at the sight of the injection
  • Swelling
  • Bruising

All side effects should subside within a few days, however if you do have any concerns or questions after treatment you should contact the clinic.

If you have previously had Dermal filler and would like to enquire about getting it dissolved, contact Revitalise Skincare Clinic today.
