Laser Hair Removal at Revitalise Skincare Clinic
Laser hair removal is a procedure we offer to remove unwanted hair, it’s a non invasive and safe treatment option. At Revitalise Skincare Clinic we use 3D Trilogyice, this machine creates a comfortable and effective laser hair removal experience. It works by heating beneath the skin to alter the function of the hair follicle. When the heat reaches the hair follicle, it destroys it; which stops it from growing. The energy pulses work by gradually heating the dermis and damaging hair follicles whilst avoiding injury to the surrounding tissue. Most laser hair removal devices are only effective at removing dark, coarse hairs as they have the most pigment and the pigment is what attracts the heat. 3D Trilogyice stands out as it is effective at removing hair ranging from golden blonde to black, it also works on most skin tones, including tanned.
During treatment, the hand piece is used in a gliding forwards and backwards motion over the skin, you may experience a warming sensation in addition to a slight pinkness to the skin. The treatment itself is virtually painless.

How many treatments will I need?
We typically recommend a course of 8 treatments for the most effective results, some individuals may need top up sessions to maintain results. Prior to all treatment a personalised consultation will take place, our Medical Nurse Practitioner will come up with a individualised plan based on your skin type and the goals you want to achieve. A patch test is required at least 48 hours before any treatment takes place to ensure suitability. Each treatment ranges from 15-60 minutes depending on the area you have treated.
The period required between treatments will depend on the area being treated and individual skin type. An interval is recommended between treatments to catch the hair during its different growth cycles.
What are the benefits of laser hair removal?
There are so many benefits to having laser hair removal, some of the key ones include:
- Reduced risk of ingrown hairs. Ingrown hairs occur when a removed strand of hair grows back and curves into the skin. Other hair removal methods such as waxing and shaving only remove the part of the hair that is sat above the skin, not the follicle underneath which makes the risk of ingrown hairs much higher. Shaving can also cause shaving rash, which laser hair removal prevents.
- Pain free. Whilst the laser can feel slightly warm on the skin, 3D Trilogyice has triple cooling technology. This consists of pre-cooling, parallel cooling, and post-cooling, ensuring that the skin remains comfortably cool throughout the entire treatment.
- No downtime. You can go about your normal daily activities straight after laser hair removal treatment.
- Lasts longer than other hair removal methods. Shaving, plucking, waxing and threading are all temporary solutions to removing unwanted hair. Laser hair removal offers you long term results than can last for years.
- Should see results after the first session. We recommend a course of treatment for optimal results however you should see a difference in your hair growth after just one session of laser hair removal. After a course of treatment you should expect to see at least a 90% reduction in hair growth!
- Save time and money on alternative hair removal methods. Buying alternative hair removal methods regularly can add up to a lot in the long run, after a course of laser hair removal you won’t need to spend money on razors or wax strips.
There is no doubting the evidence proving the benefits of this treatment. Utilising three laser wavelengths in a single hand-piece, this simultaneously targets different tissue depths as well as anatomical structures within the hair follicle. A combination of different penetration and absorption levels of these wavelengths, combined with the speed of delivery, you can be assured you will receive one of the safest and most comprehensive hair reduction solutions today.
Aftercare
There are a few aftercare steps that you should follow after laser hair removal treatment to prevent any side effects from occurring.
- Laser hair removal makes the skin more sensitive to heat. You should protect your skin from the sun after treatment, avoiding it for at least one month after and making sure to wear SPF 30 or above.
- Following on from protecting your skin from the heat, you should also avoid hot baths and showers and opt for tepid water instead.
- Don’t apply deodorant, perfume or scented lotions to areas that have been treated as this may cause irritation.
