The next generation of PRP

PRF offers an innovative concept to overcome previous limitations within regenerative medicine.

PRF offers excellent cell viability and bio compatibility with superior tissue regeneration. This advanced form of platelet rich plasma does not use anticoagulants or other chemical based additives, therefore offers a completely natural treatment to improve volume loss, photo damage, fine lines and wrinkles, scars, pigmentation, poor texture and hair loss. The low-speed centrifugation concept (LSCC) guarantees a higher concentration of platelets, growth factors and leukocytes which become trapped within the fibrinogen mesh resulting in a cell rich network. It is these essential cells that are then released slowly into the skin to lead the natural regeneration process.

Studies prove the PRF Smart Cell System offers a significantly higher concentration of platelets when compared to PRP following centrifugation, which highlights the superiority of Injectable Platelet Rich Fibrin and why this system is a true game changer.

What Is PRF Treatment?

PRF is the next generation of PRP. It uses your blood to form a layer under the skin to hold the platelets for a much longer time than PRP. This results in more sustained growth factor release than using standard PRP, which can lead to a more noticeable and marked regeneration and rejuvenation. Yet again, Revitalise Skincare Clinic is at the very forefront of the aesthetic industry. Our medical practitioner, Arvin, will be able to help you to look and feel great with our PRF treatments for skin and hair regeneration. Why not book a consultation today and your nurse specialist will guide you to the treatment that’s right for you.

Injectable platelets or (iPRF) uses the patient’s own blood plasma which is enriched with:

  • platelets (source of healing proteins and growth factors)
  • fibrin (the wound healing and regeneration matrix)
  • stem cells (the conductors of our body’s own healing and regenerative orchestra of healing and regeneration molecules).

PRF intensifies the functioning and reproduction of cells, thus having a gentle, gradual yet long lasting and accumulative effect. As a result, new fibroblasts, collagen and elastin tissues are formed, skin elasticity and complexion are improved and the pigmentation is reduced. Its’ uses are not limited to skin rejuvenation.

Potential uses:

  • Skin rejuvenation
  • Scarring
  • Stretch marks
  • Hair loss/thinning
  • Acne
  • Procedures – enhancing results and reducing downtime
  • Joint and soft tissue disorders e.g. tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis

How does it work?

PRF  uses the bloods own clotting mechanism to form a fibrin matrix under the skin. This Fibrin layer holds the palettes for up to 5 days before its absorbed into the body. During this time the palettes are working to regenerate the tissues around it.

How long does it take to work?

Every patient is unique, but changes are expected within 6 months, but it will take up to 12-18 months to get the full benefit of treatment as the regeneration process takes time to happen.

What is it used for?

PRF is thought of as the next generations of PRP as it is 100% natural and studies demonstrate it can outperform standard PRP. It can be used for skin and hair regeneration as well as joint repair and bone repair in dentistry.

What is the difference between iPRF and PRP?

Both PRP (platelet rich plasma), and PRF (platelet rich fibrin) are platelet based growth factor treatments that are extracted using a centrifuge. PRF is different from PRP in that there is no anticoagulant added during the spin, the avoidance of clotting is physiological and is achieved through the negative charge of the collecting tube to mimic the conditions within our own blood vessels (their lining is negatively charged) that prevent fibrin from creating a clot within them, thus obtaining a platelet rich injectable fibrin. Once PRF is injected into the tissue it transforms from a liquid into a gel, which not only leads to the filling of voids in folds and wrinkles but also provides a powerful regenerative matrix that releases platelets’ growth factors in a physiologically controlled, slow manner that enhances tissue regeneration. This makes PRF a more effective treatment than PRP.

Is there evidence to support what iPRF does?

Yes. Injury to any human tissue (ageing is also injury) will immediately result in platelet growth factors in a fibrin scaffold and this is the first response to injury observed in all human tissue. Accelerated healing, new blood vessels and proliferation of cells producing collagen (fibroblasts) have been well demonstrated in biomedical research investigating the basic functions of these regenerative products. Even its predecessor, PRP, has been shown to significantly accelerate healing in tissues and is widely used in the aesthetic field too.

How does it help with hair loss?

iPRF is a natural way to help male and female hair thinning. iPRF can enhance the growth of hair follicles by stimulating the stem cells and other cells in the microenvironment of the hair follicle. These special platelet cells promote healing and accelerate the rate and degree of tissue regeneration, resulting in new hair growth and thickening of existing hair.

Unlocking Hair Regrowth with the Next Evolution of Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy

Revitalise Skincare Clinic is one of the first clinics to roll this revolutionary treatment out. The journey towards natural hair regrowth starts with a comprehensive consultation with our skilled medical professional, Arvin, who will assess each patient’s unique hair loss condition, medical history, and expectations to create a personalised treatment plan.

Step 1: Aspiration and Centrifugation

During the PRF procedure, a small sample of your own blood is carefully drawn.Your  blood is then subjected to a specialised centrifugation process that separates the platelets and fibrin from other blood components

Step 2: Collection of PRF

The centrifugation process yields Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF), a concentrated blend of platelets, growth factors, and fibrin. We collect your PRF is activated . This activation step is crucial, as it ensures that the essential growth factors within the platelets, such as Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF), Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF), Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF), and others, are readily available to stimulate hair regrowth.

Step 3: PRF Injection

When the PRF ready, our medical practitioner at Revitalise Skincare Clinic will strategically inject it into specific points on your scalp where hair regrowth is needed . The activated PRF starts working immediately, rejuvenating dormant hair follicles and promoting the growth of thicker, healthier hair.

What areas respond best to PRF treatment?

  • Full face
  • Under eyes
  • Hair (thinning hair NOT hair loss)
  • Neck
  • Decolletage
  • Back of Hands
  •  forehead lines, crow’s feet and cheek lines.

How can I benefit from PRF treatment?

If you are looking to achieve youthful-looking rejuvenated skin, Improving the appearance of scarring, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, or improve under eye hollowing and dark circles, PRF treatment can help you achieve that.

Does PRF treatment hurt?

We use very fine needs for PRF and a local anaesthetic to minimise pain – it can sting a little when the needles enter the skin.

What results can I expect from my PRF treatment?

Results last approximately 6 months and may include:

  • Enhanced skin tone and texture
  • Reduced appearance of wrinkles and fine lines
  • Improvement of scarring
  • Improvement of the tear troughs and dark circles
  • Reduced appearance of sun damaged skin
  • Stimulate the natural production of collagen, to plump and thicken skin
  • Improve skin that is dry or oily
  • Reduce redness of the skin

What should I do before and after my PRF treatment for the best results?

Before your PRF treatment :

  • Avoid alcohol, tobacco, blood thinning supplements, and painkillers
  • Keep hydrated for a week leading up to the PRF treatment
  • Wash your hair on the morning of the PRF treatment (for hair thinning treatment)
  • Arrive with no make-up

After your PRF treatment

  • Avoid heavy exercise for 24 hours
  • Avoid alcohol, tobacco, blood thinning supplements, and painkillers
  • Avoid make-up for 24 hours
  • Do not touch the treatment area for 24 hours
  • Wear a hat to protect from UV rays
  • Avoid styling products for 24 hours (for hair thinning treatment)
  • Shampoo your hair the day after the procedure (for hair thinning treatment)

Is there anything else I need to be aware of?

The number of sessions required can be differ from patient to patient; for example, smokers may need more sessions than non-smokers, as smoking effects wound healing and blood quality. Typically, those that lead healthy lifestyles with no underlying health conditions will respond more effectively.
